The Rockerati are an independent band from Brighton, England. Little Black Book is a four track self-penned EP, rock n roll genre which is played loud and raw. So far this year two singles from them and have achieved coast to coast USA airplay and picked up some very nice words from people and now here's a brand new four song EP:
Musicians on EP:
David McCarthy- Vocals and lead & rhythm guitars/instruments.
Billy Terrison- Drums on Little Black Book & Sentimental.
Michael Horsham- Rhythm guitar and bass on Go Around The Sun.
Justin Welch- Drums on Go Around The Sun.
Tony Cosaitis- Piano on Sentimental.
Seamus Murphy- Drums on Oneway Ticket To Funtown.
Track by track Review:
Little Black Book- So, kicking off and its straight into the singing with David McCarthy providing all the vocals and instruments except the drums. The guitar sound and tune remind me of the Dave Edmunds Rockpile era. It’s a neat number with a somewhat sing-along effect.
Go Around The Sun- Again David McCarthy on vocals, lead and rhythm guitars, with Michael Horsham providing further rhythm and bass and Justin Welch this time on drums. Hit the time warp this is 70s glam rock n roll at its best, awesome beat with the power of a tornado just rips through you love it!
Sentimental- Vocals and guitars David McCarthy with Tony Cosaitis on Piano and once again Billy Terrison on drums. Traits of T-Rex here with that 70s sound ringing through again and a momentary solo vocal without instrumentals before it picks up again.
Oneway Ticket to Funtown- David McCarthy finishes as he started on vocals and instruments with composer Seamus Murphy joining in on drums. This one has more of a New Wave feel about again it’s a tune that flies along at tremendous speed and before you know it bosh its over.
So, let’s Summarise light the fuse and bang your heading for blast for the past here, four great tracks to fulfil your ego with passion. They’re loud, fast and played with finesse. Highly recommend a listen but make sure you turn up the volume first.
