Haunted Rhythm, the guys from Germany are back with their third full length album. A fantastic rockin band with some great experience. Covering many stages and having some amazing guests alongside them in the past and continuing to do so. Covering a wide range of rock-based genres. They have a sound which is created and written by themselves and been up there with greats like Marcel Bontempi. Being on the mix of Psycho, Neo and rockabilly there is a lot to offer. I they have some dealings with sleazy records in the past. Now representing the Tessy Records label. so more great productions. Another name with a musical background, having their album recorded ,mixed and mastered at Mario mozarella studios. so, with all this in mind, more on the band we go ,along with brilliant sound we have skilful members, their little humour in their write ups (see footnotes) this quartet
consisting of
Martin Manneck with his rich lead vocals and acoustic guitar,
Mario Oehlmann (foggy mountain) on electric guitar and backin vocals
Marcus lange slappin bass
and keeping the pulse going Jack Ebbers
Track by track
1 For You Love.
a kool start of drums and guitar to a rockabilly, fast country sound you would expect from a brill rockin band , great form on steady bass, catchy guitar with nice paced drums along with balanced vocals, good dance feel. Great start to the album.
2 Scare Dance
faster upbeat rhythm rocking drumming in with guitar riff leading to vocals. very catchy upbeat pulse. Lovely form on guitar breaks and drum bridges with strong echo in the slap bass takes this gem all the way.
3 Time Bomb
an intro of combined low drum and sturdy bass soloing you can visual the ticking time bomb , before the explosion of the record starting, some great effects on guitar and haunted feelin. power vocals, brill jumpin rocker
4 Shake A Leg
catchy guitar riff on the opening. bringing in the drum and bass and the great vocals directing the shakin of the leg. Your leg will be shakin all day, Brilliant minor key feel an tone on this flowing rhythm, break your leg and shake your leg... you got some power there, and the cha cha cha ending just tops it of.
5 Cats And Dogs
again, a cool catchy air guitar riff. drum slapping bass accompanying, some real vibrant echo techniques on the end bars on all instruments, let the animals chase the beat brill drum fills.
6 Chills And Fever
Tremolos bar chord descending riffs to enter on a joint drum, guitar paced beat. Rhythmic continuous play again with strong echo bass playing. Great contrast with the vocals making the chills run down your spine. Dancefloor filler.
7 Fade Away
Smooth rockin guitar entry here, setting the way for the record, pulsing boppin beat on the drums with nice cymbal breaks. bouncing bass with the vocals and great guitar techniques. Power track and single beat exit. Top job
8 Gypsy Woman
Let’s stroll in to the mystic with a gypsy voodoo feel, walkin into the guitar riff and the drum beat to keep the power going with the unique bass play. Great effects and instrumental techniques, minor key slow blues rockin pulsed flyer. lovely ensemble of backin vocals, all coming together. slowing the ending , The Dick Dale surfy way.
9 Hungry Eyes
And hungry for more with this number , upbeat up-tempo dancing jiver. Bright feelin bouncing guitar and lively drums along with harmonizing chorus. Sectioned bar cymbal defining the end section and bass pulsed super ending. You can feel the feel the stage presence of this band.
10 Hip Bone Crack
I think the title could say it all, I will by the end of this very jumpy energized Track. Recorded full of power and dynamics, fast paced drums and leading guitar throttling, the vocals and the driving bass know out this well-balanced bopper.
11 Skeleton Fight
Fast and bluesy feelin to this bopper with lots of energy. Constant power riff with dynamic bass and lifting vocals, then back to the beginning, giving it a full loop of sound and snazzy beat ending.
12 Hold On Tight To This Dream
Fast running intro , bluesy minor key guitar bass and driving drum, guitar breaking off for its rhythm , and paced drum fills great drum roll t end of each bar ,somewhat Spanish feel , the mid break on this number is very unique with its own hand crafted work between the snare cymbal , the bass and guitar like having own inverted breaks and naturally echoed effects and broken emancipated beat..., the fantastic guitar solos and low softened section, I’ve played this several times for its own identity.
13 I’ve Heard That Line Before
Voodoo essence of bass and brushed drumming to open its own progression sections , from minor starts to major build ups , very unique rarely heard, mix of low and hi guitar scaling and the drums mix of paced and sounds from voodoo rhythm to upbeat countryish rock, and a slapping calm bass to match it all with the vocals to fit every essence...no we’ve not heard it all before
14 If I Ever Need To Leave You
Leaving i hope would sound this good and feel this bright. up-tempo power rocking snare and bass, cymbal starts and carries the guitar floes so well together as the bass pushes the rest of the way with the vocals running along the top, the breaks are very well fitted to the feel out the instrumentation cymbal crashes top it off
15 The Night Belongs To You
if so this is how you want it to sound, bright upbeat tempo paced bopper/jiver, energetic clear crisp guitar and again cymbal. I like vocalized accompanying the track.
16 Hey Little Boy
Little “Cut Across Shorty” intro, then country rockabilly, ensembled acoustic guitar working with the lead guitar subtle driving drum pattern mini fills, and drive along bass, a few string slides on guitar set it off, laid back. little slower but power-driven twanged outro
17 End of All Dreaming
guitar broken chord intro, in to pulsing drum tom beat, rhythmic tango rockin shaking beat made by all aspects of the band, jump hopping slapping bass, calming harmonized vocals match the bassy lines and guitar cymbals sets the top lines, some great echo tremolo top offs driving to a power beating outro
18 Bonus Track.
The Jam Session. Now hearing the band sound more acoustic and playing with country strings with vocal sound effects. The band have some jam fun time, in a studio its needed after playing tight and keepin to a format.
