The only rockabilly band based in Montenegro. A classic trio of guitar, drums and hot chick slapping double bass. Regular guests of national TV and festivals, they are also well-known for their true and original music far beyond the borders of Montenegro. Higher is their debut self-penned album.

Members of the Band:

Eliza Stark- Singer and Double Bass

Dmitriy Fedorov-Guitar

Oleg Shibaev-Drummer

Track by track Review:

Gonna Get You Higher- Eliza kicks off with a neat bass solo with a catchy guitar riff from Dmitry to follow, cool track to start the album off and powerful grating lyrics from Eliza to.

The Lonesome Soul-More of a bouncy beat again a great guitar riff be prepared to be startled halfway through turn up the volume for full effect.

Broken Heel- The combination of bass, drum and guitar gives us a tantalizing start to this track, which drifts along with solitude and panache.

Never Let Me Drink One More- Jolly little number with a drum combo start that literates on not drinking to many and a prolific beat for a jive.

I’m Alone- A neat strolling beat and a subdue tone to this one that can be said to having a haunting twist to it.

Let’s Drive- Plenty of guitar work and riffs from Dmitry enhance this track while Eliza cracks her way through the vocals slapping that bass.

Motorbikes- A driving force of high velocity produces a powerful energic tune with the throttle open on all fronts.

Bloody Nightmare- Catchy guitar riff blends in with Eliza’s vocals on this mid-tempo track, with the music  fading in and out at times.

F**K Them All- Think the title explains the context of this one ending on a high note with some colourful licks from Dmitriy and choice drumbeats from Oleg, whilst Eliza gets the message across in her lyrics.

Well, let’s Summarise these guys have potential to hit the big gigs on the scene, they sound tight, and the vibe of their music gives a fresh taste in the Rockabilly world, recommend a listen the very least better still catch them live.

Band Bio:

The musical journey began back in Russia in the 90s. "It was a boom time for psychobilly and rockabilly in Moscow and St. Petersburg." says Fedorov. "I was 16, just strumming my guitar. When I saw rockabilly and psychobilly players play guitar with the double bass, I was really inspired. That's when I started my journey as a professional musician."

Fedorov names Scotty Moore, Link Wray and Batmobile as his key influences, while Imelda May inspired the classically-trained Stark to swap piano for double bass. "She is very cool," says Stark. "When I heard her a couple of years ago, I thought, I could never sound like this goddess! I thought, if I could play double bass and sing, it'd be magic.

Formed with the current line-up in January 2023 and performing their first gig in April of that year, three singles and a debut album later the band are really going places in fact they are just freshly back from The Cooly Rocks On Rock n Roll festival in Australia.
