With their roots set in the ever pulsating and innovative creative movement in the city of Porto, LOLA LOLA with their roots booming with pulse were formed in 2014, the band being culminated tightly by Tiago Gil (Guitar), twangin that retro haunting sound Miguel Lourenço (Bass slapping away to that crazy beat, e Hélder Coelho (Drums),thumping that pulse away on them drilling skins ,all formerly of Os Tornados,an then , bringing the disconcerting voice of Carla Capela, known in Porto’s nightlife circuit as DJ Just Honey, so throwing out the rockin sound all over the sweet place... and currently in the hands of the master Rui Teixeira. In the blend away raw grasping sound on the baritone sax

Their home grown musical universe of the 50s and 60s, with inspiration R&B/Popcorn, 50s/60s and Rock’n’Roll, this great band, Lola Lola signed in early 2015 with the prestigious independent label, “Sleazy Records”, which we are well aware of their tremendous outcomes, and released the singles “Money in the Can” (June/2015), “Sweet Lovin’” (December/2016), “Voodoo Man/Voodoo Woman” (February/2018) and by the sovereign Chaputa! Records, In 2023, a second adventure with Chaputa! Records, LOLA LOLA gave a delightful time for us with a revisitation of the mythical traditional blues song "Baby Please Don't Go". A genuine classic, adored by millions

Almost at the end of 2023, LOLA LOLA were part of Chaputa's Double Feature Vol. 5, with Marcel Bontempi, a top name on the rockin scene...we can see where this brilliant number is going, they included the songs "Magic Sand" and "You Dropped Me". With their songs being highlighted around the world by cult DJs, radio stations and the music blogosphere, LOLA LOLA have traveled the Iberian highways to clubs and festivals, firing up audiences and leaving a trail of worn shoes and infatuated eardrums behind them

Now Halloween, 24 is upon us and LOLA LOLA, have mixed in the cauldron and conjured up a chilling new 7-inch release, Little Witch,

Oh yes, and to top it off with eye ball and yummy arachnids , produced Black and Green Vinyl variants. Spinning at 45rpm, the record features two spooky tracks: "Little Witch" and "The Monster of the Wild Forest."This release combines eerie vocals, sinister guitar riffs, ghostly baritone saxophone, and bone-chilling drums, perfectly capturing the Halloween in all it’s TRUE essence and virtue for the sound the day should have.

The cover being A very unique elder fashioned cart, rarely seen now days, the band tells me its “ a shadowy, flickering landscape, with sinister trees, a haunted cabin, a blood-dripping pumpkin lantern, and a wicked witch brewing mischief under a crescent moon, Fan blood dripping tactics  Lolas own description of the tracks is a delightful sentiment to start us in the mood

“Little Witch “

witch (hehe), tells the story of a young witch who evolves into a powerful sorceress, discovering hidden powers and secret rituals. Being powerful, capturing the dark essence of the character.  Starting with a howlin twisting pumping sax and drum catching your attention, the bassist slapping away to the melodic rhythm, an immense twisting surf a billy sound, well-structured bars with sharp endings to sections , guitar features to indicate the bars, box in early ish in higher wailing pitch and haunting edge, the whole piece carried an worked tightly between each other and a good focus on the sax, great little drum roll fills Couple of sinisterness giggles thrown in on the vocal side giving it a wicked twist, an a cool ensemble harmonized phase out, smashing work. a good twisting, stroller vibe while you toil with the witch.

The Monster of the Wildsee Forest

A track that takes us into a cursed black forest inhabited by a terrible monster made of gold. It inevitably lures the most adventurous, only to devour their greedy souls with a scream whose brutality inspires fear, dragging the song into a dense, suffocating, and terrifying atmosphere” Koool yeeeaa let’s have a scare, This going to be wicked n wild, let’s get this bubbling. Now for the monster of Wildsee Forest to come out, A calming mid paced little stroller here, starting with the ensemble of pattern drum, and guitar with a walking heel and toe beat, with sax on each solid beat, a direct indication to walk with it, sounding like little howling whistles to begin in between. then mini growls picking it up. the vocals go from a very steady to more emphasised style. another section of slower harmonized vocals near the end, to a longer lowered tone on key and vocals, adding more power an mystery A calm play out with harmonized vocals giving a spooky sound between instruments and vocals. I shall be spinning the track on several shows. and enlightening the folk about these koool witches with kats.... u may not sleep very well tonight Vince Rocker Wolf Eavis
