Pure dirty rock n roll with a psycho twist. Bikers, from hell , well Ontario in Canada anyway. I found this description on Bandcamp which does them justice.

"Rock n' roll might've died, but Screamin' Sins have raised the dead! So slap on your dapper dan, slick back your pomp, put your fist through the jukebox, take your little lady by the arm and drag her through the graveyard. It's a psychobilly freakout!"

Psychobilly as a genre seems to be ever growing and diversifying. I would say that the sins are spawned more from the Gun Club stable than The Meteors purer form. This is hard riffin’ rock n roll with pounding drums and rumbling bass.

Before anyone screams at me and points a critical finger, have a listen to the ‘original psychobilly’ compilation album ‘Rockabilly Psychosis and the garage disease’  and hear the musical palette the genre has developed from. I hate labels myself in my view you either like something or you don’t and that's that folks.

Screamin' Sins are:

Reverend Paul Sin - Guitar/Vocals

Vanessa Von Voodoo - Bass/Vocals

The Witchdoctor - Drums

Track by track Review

01 Damned

Haven for the damned starts with a blues rock shuffle that sets the road for the damned. It's all about burning in hell for some kind of unspeakable love. You are damned if you do or damned if you don't when you're in love with this woman.

The Reverend Paul is trying not to give in but he’s sure gonna.

02 Drive me wild

Turn the key, rev up the hot rod and let’s go! good rock n roll track that’s sure to drive you wild and take you on a highway to hell.

03 six feet under

The most ‘rock’n’ track on this release so far. with Peter Gunn twanging to set it off and Foo Fighter drum filled emphasis on the verses. The Rev hears the evil in the cemetery and hears the devil call and can’t escape the screaming in his skull even with industrial strength ear defenders there is nothing that’s going to protect us for this mean and nasty track

04 sinners club

You have to be over 21 to enter this club folks.

Heart pumping sound FX and a B Movie sound bite asking if you believe in Evil. The track is very reminiscent of the Gun Club especially in structure and the vocal twangs. Some nice added backing vocals help raise the choruses.

05 cold black heart

Starts with a rockin’ swing beat and country feel. This track is my favourite on Haven for the Damned. Its the best song and has good contributions from all the bass especially Vanessa Von Voodoo (great name)

06 Your dark desire

Pitch black and heavy blues rock influenced track.  Vocals again remind me of Jeffrey Lee Pierce. I rate this track and must be heard late at night as your dark desires come creeping in.

Recommended There are some good tracks on Haven For The Damned. It has a hybrid feel that keeps you interested and the band play well. The recordings are solid and they look good live.  The Sins have a number of releases and  you should check out Return of the fly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXtXoOabZrE  it's a good one.
