Track by track Review:
Boneyard Reef – Pounding drumbeat kicks us off with some high tension guitar playing a very daunting number that never lets up.
The Bronzee Bull- More mellow this one with the Shadows touch and the talking guitars.
Elevator Drop- There is some cool guitar work on this track creating an awesome sound of the surf era. Tally Ho- A very powerful version of the Hunters 1961 original, up-tempo and surfed up definitely a Go-Go.
Xmas Palm Tree- Laid back number with some neat guitar picking producing a characteristic sound.
Swallow Tail- Traits of the spaghetti western themes running through this one with the guitars working the frets.
Toxica- Drum & bass lead us into sound produced by the guitars authenticating the ‘Toxic’ elements of paranoia.
El Rodo- High pitched instrumental with a kind of battle of the guitars as they play their strutting chords.
Fat Fender- One of those foot tapping, hand clapping tunes with a cool beat.
The Day Of Malibu War- Marching drums and a catchy guitar riff sets the picture for the Malibu boats of war.
Surfin’ Tragedy- Cover of The Sentinals 1963 song, well produced and arranged taking us back to that era of death records and the only track with lyrics.
To Summarize: Pure instrumental surf album with one exception “Surfin’ Tragedy” has lyrics, if you love those Dick Dale guitar sounds then this is for you a timeless production certainly worth a listen.
