Track by track Review:

You Gotta Love Me Too- So, we start of with this little ditty, super saxophone melodies neat backdrop beat and toned vocals from Marcel, great dance track.

Wild Kisses- The title track and the second self-penned number from the talented Marcel, this one brings out the Roy Orbison influences he so cleverly portraits. It’s another flowing piece with some beautify sung lyrics.

Pucker Paint- Danny Wolfes absolute stoker of a tune from 1958, Marcel gives it an honorary retro treatment with his own unique style and panache. Lovely to listen to, great to dance to.

Daydream- Recorded in 2017 the first of two covers from the Orbison/Melson  co-writing era. Joe Melson sang this in my view with the pop charts in mind while Marcel has recreated the Big O’ sound of that era.

(With You) I Had It All- Lovely soothing number with some meaningful lyrics and a laid-back beat, maybe a slow stroller?

Send Your Love To Me In A Letter- Bouncing back Marcel generates the guitar strings and produces this jolly little tune with a nice story told through the lyrics holding onto a neat back drop riff throughout.

Waitin'- The Sax is back in this one working along with Marcels guitar produces a unique sound to this tune which again reflects on the big O’ influence.

Watch Dog- Al Terry’s 1960 tune is covered next in a slightly more subdued way than Al’s hitter, some nice guitar work by Marcel making it a fitting tribute.

Why Can't We Just Make Up- The last of six self-penned tracks and it’s a beautiful sleepy ballad one to certainly grab your partners to. I feel if you could send it back in time  to the 1950/60s it would be up there in the charts .

She's Ok-  Co-written and sung by Roy Orbison and Joe Melson who was Roy’s  early writing partner and did much to give Roy his big post-rockabilly career boost with Monument Records. Marcel ups the tempo here from Roy and Joes more laid-back style. With some characteristic sounds on the guitar and a lively beat it’s a cracker to end the album with.

So, let’s Summarise like his three previous albums this is another masterpiece from Marcel, it recreates an era we all love with his self-penned tracks and covers. I’ve been following Marcel since seeing him some years back at Hemsby when he was known as “The Truly Loving Trio” great showman and quality singer. Well worth a listen and at time if you shut your eyes you’ll think it the Big O’ singing.

Marcels Bio:

Marcel Riesco has been performing the rock and roll circuit with acclaimed success for years. His voice is at times compared to the one of a young Roy Orbison, but that is not why he stands out. Marcel is an energetic singer with a fantastic voice, a prolific songwriter, and a sizzling guitar player. He has developed a unique sound and style, and his stage show is dynamic.

A debut LP, A Record Date with Marcel Riesco, received amazing reviews and the much anticipated All Shades of Blue, followed suit.

Marcel's résumé includes performances at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Master Series Tribute Week to Roy Orbison, sharing the bill with The Crickets (Buddy Holly's band), Raul Malo (The Mavericks), the late Glen Campbell, Billy Burnette (rockabilly legend Johnny Burnette's nephew) and more; a memorable appearance at the Arizona State University's Roy Orbison Celebration in which Roy's wife Barbara was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Roy; and a majestic show at the 20th Annual Roy Orbison Festival in Wink, Texas, sharing the bill with Roy's oldest son, Wesley. Marcel has also starred In Dreams – The Roy Orbison Story in Australia, to sold-out crowds, and has thrilled audiences at major rock and roll and rockabilly festivals worldwide, with nominations for Best Rockabilly Male at the Ameripolitan Music Awards (Memphis, Tennessee) in 2017 and 2019 to boot.

Marcel is also a Roy Orbison Historian and has personally assisted with the production of Orbison's first and only biography book, The Authorized Roy Orbison, written by Orbison's 3 sons: Roy Jr., Alex, and Wesley.
