Although I have known about Niki Sullivan for obvious reasons (the crickets). I had to do some research on him. I was unaware of the recordings found on this release. Bear family are well known for giving us some of the greatest rare tracks from all artists. But with this they have gone that extra mile. I could have saved hours of searching the internet for information and just read the booklet that is included in this release. So, what do you get. the complete Arizona recordings from 1959. Plus, recordings that were pitched to dot records in 1958.
You don’t just hear the music but follow Niki on a musical journey. His brilliant guitar playing, his writing of songs and his vocal talents. The booklet will give you the rest. But one thing is for sure Elvis Presley paved way for the rock n roll road, but the crickets gave it a sound that was followed by everybody else. This is one special release that can only be enjoyed by hearing it. The team at BFR have certainly gave us something rare to hear including six previously unreleased. Enjoy
Thank you to, Jack Miller, Nico Feurerback, and the rest of the team for another awesome release
