Snakebite, based out in Sweden, have been performing rock’n’roll since forming back in 2000. Majority of the tracks are self-penned by the lead vocalist Jörgen. As you will hear he is mighty good at it with three of the tracks on this release. although just like many bands they have gone through some changes with its Lineup. But don’t be mis taken the Band have stuck to the sound and songs that we have known and love. Releasing their first Album in 2022 “Hot, Hard & Wild” on Old-Rock Records – ORR 2002-2 they quickly became the most sought-after band in Sweden. 12 albums later and tours across Europe they still remain highly in demand. This Album not only celebrates the bands success with all its members, past and present but also demonstrates the friendships formed along the way. The way rock n roll was meant to be. Knowing about this album release from early in the year, it’s been on my wanted list for a while. So, with 12 new tracks to play, let’s all become Brothers and sisters of Rock ‘n’ Roll and enjoy 25 Years of Explosive Rock ‘n’ Roll with Snakebite.

Track by track review:

Brothers of Rock‘n’Roll

Awesome opening track. imagine Bob Burgos, Cavan mixed, and you got the vocal style . Raw hard hitting rock n roll from the boys. Everything about the track is just great for the ears. The track celebrates the point of the whole album. together again and still Brothers.

Problem Child

Jörgen takes the lead on this great rockin track, some fantastic guitar work reflecting the sound of Vince Taylors Black Cadillac, which will never harm any track. the track tells the story of being a young rebel tearaway (not to be confused with Orbison’s track) again some electrifying guitar. Good jiver.

All I Wanna Do

A real greasy leather biker vision as this track rocks away. Henrik plays those ivories like his hands are on fire. Brilliant rockin track. ends with a little parental guidance word. But the lyrics all build to the final lyric.

Woman Of Mine

Anders re-takes the microphone on this modern-day sounding rockabilly track. the backing is just good and tight with a sing along melody. Nice album filler.

Sugar Coated Love

Let’s get real down and dirty, this track as it all, blues, country, and best of all its Snake-abilly. Outstanding track. if your familiar with the UK,s Revolutionaries then this is them in the Swedish format. A floor filler from start to finish. Top Notch Track.

We Are Snakebite

I believe the title is self-explanatory. The story of the boys that have rocked for the last 25 years. So raise your glass to Snakebite. Named after the UK drink, (cider mixed with bitter)

I Got Leavin on my Mind

Stepping forward on the vocal is Stefan and a great job he does, his voice stands out with its real tough sounding vocal. Another simple but great rockin album track.

Rollin Through the Night

Back to thrashing out some stunning rock n roll. A good rockin pace  with some awesome instrument playing. Go cats go. Bop, Jive or even stroll this track fits them all.

Teddy Boy Fight

Story of the fist fight nights when the teddy boys would probably meet some group of Mods or punk rockers. It’s a legendary tale told in many different ways from all the genres in music. But the teddy boys did it best. This is an anthem of the Teddy boy’s night out. Great track that should end every teddy boy event. Listen to the Bass and Piano. Awesome.

I’m So Bad (I Don’t Care)

Turn up the volume here comes another rockin belter. Vocals are great and matched by the musicians backing him. Toe tapping and finger snapping beat that just rolls along.

Don’t Buy Me a Rose When I’m Dead and Gone

Letting it all out on this track. some great writing that it would suit even the Heavy metal side of our rockin scene. I just love the Harmonica on the track. keeps it to the way we like it, Rockin and raw.

Like Red Wine, (she’s Better over the years)

So we come to the closing track, but what a journey. Just like wine the boys are perfected their craft and its tasting sweeter with every track.

Summery

What a great album, 12 tracks that takes us all the way back to how a band first formed, created a sound, moved forward, changed the line up only to come back together to give us a rock n roll history lesson. Reforming to celebrate a friendship and lovers of a sound that we like to dance and play. I guarantee once you play this album you would have been bitten by a group of rock n roller named SNAKEBITE. Don’t delay order today.
